Costume ideas for a theaterical production??
I have a brown piece of material that basicially looks like a dress and i somehow have to make it look like a "Court" or "Royal" thing for Midsummers night dream. I'm peter quince but since we didnt have enough guys im just Quince but how can i make my costume look like im a poor actor but yet tryin to match the ppl of the court? any ideas? anything helpful is welcome

well i kno the basics, but what exactly do they do at the party? i knoo the fancy, kinda like a wedding dress, but my cuzin had one that i herd was realy cool, sadly i was in LA, and couldnt attend, but she had a beach theme, and had people carry her out on a surfboard and stuff, im only 25% spanish, but could i have one on my 15th birthday?

shoe change/doll exchange will be beauty and the beast cuz thats what my mom wants.
But when i dance with my dad, padrio, grandpa, and chambelan i dont know how to split the songs.
cuz i wanted to dance you and me with my chambelan and just him.
and my dad my little girl.
but what do i do with my pardino and grandpa.

which is pretty boring just having the court sway there.

Im having a Quinceanera next year, and i have three themes stuck in my head and i dont know which one is better.
1) A masquerade theme, all of my court will have on masquerade masks and the colors will be black and white.
2) Black and white and red roses. My damas will have on red dresses in contrast to the rest of everything and the guys will either have on white or black tuxes, with red underneath.
3) Hollywood, like on every table there will be little grammys and ill have stars and stuff around. The colors will be red gold silver black.
Also if you have any other suggestions it would be great. I only want intelligent answers please. And please keep in mind that im not the richest person.
Another question! should i have it over spring break or during summer break?

I would say go with Hollywood theme because there is just so much you can do with it. My daughter is having this theme for her sweet 16. She got a medium size hall for 500 for 5 hours. She is having 100 kids. You did not mention if you were having a big party of a house party. She bought a red carpet and we are getting a Hollywood Photo setting from Stumps Spirit and there are some Paparazzi cut outs we will put along the red carpet. You can get cheap basic card invite for hollywood or movie type theme. We got some really nice ones from an EBay store called Hollywood Nostalgia ticket invites and they are 1.00 a piece. There are so many sites with Hollywood theme like shindigz and hollywood megastore. I was lucky and we have an outlet store here and they had a lot of the stuff on those sites for quite a discount. There is a Hollywood theme decoratoins that is a black plate with the word Hollywood across it and it is in black silver and Gold and they also have latex balloons that say Hollywood on it. We are going to use just 3 plain latex balloons in silver, gold and black with one taller star shaped balloon that says Hollywood across it to float higher than the rest. We will put these in a bunch and attach them to curling ribbon that is attached to a Hollywood theme centerpiece which you can find at stumps or the hollywood sites. We are having 10 tables that seat 8 each and we are having black and metallic gold table tablecloths. This is a dance. We are having a DJ. Also, look up scene setters. These are big plastic murals that take up big walls and they look really cool. We are having guests wear black and white semi formal and the star birthday girl is wearing red. we found a nice cake at \cinderalla cakes but there is also a plain flat sheet cake that they put a clapboard and a pair of sunglasses on it and cut out the hollywood sign and put it on the cake. Go on Google images and yahoo images and look up holllywood cake and movie cakes for ideas.

If the quinces are not completely yellow, store them at room temperature until they are fully ripened, yellow all over, and emit a pleasant aroma. They should then be used quickly or they will become mealy.
If you don't plan to use the ripe quince immediately, then store them in the refrigerator where they will keep up to two weeks. However, it's best to store them apart from apples and pears because their penetrating aroma may affect the other fruits.

I need a dance that is easy and I can learn fast for my quinceneara?
My quince is in june and I need some dances or just some basic steps I can improve with for my father dance and the big dance I do with my accompiante. Something i could learn online would be helpful and a song to go with it.

...but i'm a little confused on how things work out. Do you tell the person the SPECIFIC songs that you want or do they just play whatever they want? Or do you burn CD's and give it to them? Help... =]

If you dont find something you like, go to the quincenera stores in your town (they will have wedding and formal gowns in the window and Spanish painted on the wall, will be in the Hispanic communities in your town) they have good prices there and will often alter the dress right there if it needs work

Probably, in areas with a lot of Hispanics. Open the phone book, see which non-Catholic churches offer services in Spanish, and call and ask.

Reply:If you were thinking a goldish color, why not something in champagne? It's sublte and elegant. You could also go with a bronze color which is more dramatic.

i just turned 14 years old.next year its a tradition in my culture to throw a huge celebration. yet i dont want it huge i just want a hall 4 i could have a b-day with my family and friends yet it takes a year to plan everything. i need to get the couples together and learn the steps.need to get the hall the cake the food and everythin else but the main problem is the money issue so if u could please help...

24 pitted prunes
3/4 C. (180 ml) water
3/4 C. (180 ml) pure maple syrup
4 quinces*
2 sticks cinnamon
Ground allspice
Ground nutmeg
Puree lemon juice and prunes together in a blender, and pour into a medium-size bowl.
Add water and maple syrup to bowl and stir to combine. Spoon a little of this mixture into the bottom of a 9" x 13" ( 23 x 31 cm) Pyrex baking dish.
Peel skin from the quinces with a vegetable peeler or a sharp paring knife. Cut quinces in half. Core out the seeds and place them, cut side down, in prepared baking dish.
Pour remaining sauce over the tops of the quinces.
Add cinnamon sticks, and lightly sprinkle tops with allspice and nutmeg.
Cover with aluminum foil, shiny side inside. Bake at 325 (Gas Mark 3) for 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes. Serves 6.

MY DAUGHTER TURNS 15 IN JULY. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS ON HOW I CAN HAVE A NICE 15 WITHOUT SPENDING ALOT OF MONEY!?

Well probably the most expensive thing would be getting the place to have it at. Unless you have it at your house which is ideal, but if you have too many people attending then find the most inexpensive hall/hotel banquet room. The next expense would be decorations. You could totally make it look expensive with cheap things. Balloons from the dollar store, table cloths (just buy material from Wal-Mart %26amp; hem the edges), Maybe print some pictures out of your daugther %26amp; frame them with little dollar store frames and make them the center piece %26amp; a take home gift for the guests. Trust me, I've thrown so many kinds of different family functions with less then $300 %26amp; it looked really elegant. Just remember, it's all about lighting. If you dim the lights %26amp; maybe have candles or just minimal lighting it transforms a place. Pick a theme %26amp; color, then go from there. Good Luck!

Recently I discovered fennel bulbs being used in a healthy green juice drink, mixed with spinach, cucumber, agave and some flax seed. I have not made it yet, but it looks good.
Have you anything you really like to eat, like cherry juice, or quince paste or mesclun that is now a staple in your diet? Pomegranate juice, maybe? Or orange bell peppers to stuff rather than the green ones ?

If you don't want to have a quince, why should you? I'm having a monster "Sweet 16" party, and my older brother is having a few friends to sleepover and play Wii. That's what he wants. That's what I want.
Though I think it important to stick to culture and tradition, if you decide waiting another year, and going with the "american" tradition is better, than do that! Talk to your parents, and figure out a plan. State why you don't want a quince and what you do want and why. See things from their view, and discuss options. Parents already ok'd? Have a Sweet 16!

umm donate it for locks of love. then curl it with a curling iron. it looks cute!
Reply:Wow. Your hair is amazing. But I used to have really long hair too, so I know it can be a pain. If you get it cut, get at least 10 inches off so you can donate it to Locks of Love. But anyway, I think you should try to do some kind of elaborate braid for your friend's quincenera. Maybe with ribbons in it (unless that would look too immature). Or curl some of it and stick it up on top of your head, and leave the rest down. That would be pretty.

What are you having for Easter Dinner?
This Easter I will be having a glorious Herb-Butter-Roasted Turkey bird with festive trimmings, including herbs, baby squash, Seckel pears, crab apples, quinces, and a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds. Of course we will be having stuffing, ear potatoes, gravy, pies, and big macs.
What are you having for Easter Dinner?

Reply:Ham is the main course. I will make carrots with cinnamon, a salad with tortellini and red cabbage, and of course my world famous bunny cake. lol.
