i mean im spanish but im not really into the culture as much as others...dot get me wrong being spanish is the best but i just rather have a sweet 16.so even if can i have a sweet 16
Do i have 2 have a quince?
If you don't want to have a quince, why should you? I'm having a monster "Sweet 16" party, and my older brother is having a few friends to sleepover and play Wii. That's what he wants. That's what I want.
Though I think it important to stick to culture and tradition, if you decide waiting another year, and going with the "american" tradition is better, than do that! Talk to your parents, and figure out a plan. State why you don't want a quince and what you do want and why. See things from their view, and discuss options. Parents already ok'd? Have a Sweet 16!

Reply:Have both!
Reply:no. its your choice.
Reply:This is for you and your family to decide. If your family wants you to have one then you probably should, if not then you can have a sweet 16. I don't see why you wouldn't want to have a quince it's the same as a sweet 16 and it's usually huge.
Reply:i'm hispanic too my mom let me choose so i had a sweet sixteen instead and besides quince's are more just for family and sweet sixteen's are for you and your freinds
Reply:no u dont. many of my hispanic friends didnt have a quinceaneara. they just had a small party. also some of them that had the quince changed the traditional waltz dance into a hiphop dance.
Reply:it depends on your family. just because its a tradition doesnt mean it has to be YOUR tradition
Reply:ok..i know your not in touch with your culture but this is a chance to do that ...im puerto-rican and im having a quince ...plus you can represent for the latinos and have an awesome party.....but in the end its your choice
