What does the quince court do?
Basically that's all you have to do. You have to dress the part, so that all the males are the same. You'll have to attend classes to learn the dance routine, which might be a quadrille (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrille) though not necessarily, and you may be taught the waltz. On the evening, the dance will be part of the spectacle. Then immediately after that, the father leads off the waltz with his daughter, in the centre of the room, then other males take it in turns to dance with her, during that number - often male relatives, but they could be members of the court too. Don't feel foolish, because the people watching will not be thinking that. It'll all be admiration - trust me. Then you can breathe a huge sigh of relief, as more modern music takes over, everbody dances however they want, and you can enjoy the rest of the evening.
