Onions, garlic and chives in all forms (dry, raw, cooked) contain thiosulphate, which can irritate the gastrointestinal system of your dog. A relatively high dosage (600-800 grams) in one meal or spread apart over a few days can damage red blood cells (haemolytic anaemia)[2].
Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can kill a dog
Chocolate: Chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Baker’s chocolate is the most dangerous. A dog can consume milk chocolate and appear to be fine because it is not as concentrated, but it is still dangerous.
Coffee, Coffee grounds, tea and tea bags: Drinks/foods containing caffeine cause many of the same symptoms chocolate causes
Macadamia Nuts: Macadamia nuts can cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis.

ok a quince is not a wedding.. i worked at a bridal gown store and used to get sooo mad at these rediculous 15 yr old girls and their parents making such a big deal out of their 15th birthday.. a white gown is for your g-damn wedding day ... and theres no reason to have a 'court' of ladies.. its so rediculous to have these girls parents pay for new dresses.. ugh i hate quince's.. your best bet is looking at wedding gowns, because when a gown is white it is usually classified as a WEDDING GOWN.. so have the bridezilla to be check out wedding gowns.. color is popular in wedding gowns now so she'll be able to find gold.. however i think she should just go with a gold dress..

It looks very princessy and grand, maybe a little too much. i'm not from ur backround and didnt have a quice, but i beleive te whole idea is to be like a princess. i love the dress, even if its dramatic. maybe you colud go for a lighter color? maybe light pink/peach/white? just to balance out all the detailing and grand-ness of it?? i love the dress though, ull look beautiful!

I'm having a sweet 16 in January (we've already got the hall) Its been a tradition to have a quince but for our 16th birthday. Normally this wouldn't b a problem, but i'm a bit different. My family lives in the city, me in the suubarbs, my friends and i do differnt things, like have differnt tastes in music. for my cuzins parties the music and mass was all in spanish, I hardly understand the language! my mum says it has to have half spanish half english music at the party, since without the family i wouldnt have the party (my father has been telling me not to have the party since i was 3, so no help there) my friends dont understand spanish. How do i make everyone happy? I'm obsessed but the victorian/edwardian era right? so I asked my mum if i could add some the styling to the dresses in my court, no one aggres! so many problems!

Yes, it is your party... but you also want to be a good host and consider your guests. The point of having a party is to entertain your friends and be surrounded by people you enjoy being around. If the mass is half/half then everyone can understand and everyone can take part. If you have non english speaking family members they may be highly offended if they can not understand ANY of the mass. .
Make the music however you want at your party. Maybe ask mom if at the start of the party when the family is all there you will play the spanish stuff for about an hour while people mingle and eat. But once it is time to dance you will change to music for the kids since they will be the ones dancing. If she is obsessed with spanish music maybe look for some contemporary spanish artists (Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, J.Lo, Ivy Queen, Shakira) so it is spanish but also cool enough for you and your friends.That way all your guests are happy and have something.... and the majority of the night will be your music.
If you want extra decorations on your dresses then work to get some extra money to reimburse your mom for the extra cash spent on this. Do some internet searches for cheap victorian decorations. Thsi party costs lots of money for mom and dad. Let them know you understand this and appreciate it.... then they may be more flexible. Just give them a big hug and a thankyou... act appreciative of everything and then they may bend more. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

You should be thanking God you are alive and that people friends and family want to throw a celebration for you. Who cares what you are wearing are you paying for it? If you are that unhappy than take this burden off your parents.

It sounds to me like you have a lot on your plate right now. First off you need to find someone you can sit down and talk too. I would highly recommend your parents, however if you feel at this point that you can't, A school councilor or one available at planned parenthood might help you. It's very clear that you don't want to have an abortion and planned parenthood provides, support and prenatal care.
You have some hard life decisions and changes up ahead and you really need to work through them before the baby comes and you suddenly find yourself faced with the responsibility of raising a child. Most communities have services available to help you, find them and use them.
My best advice though, is again to talk with your family they might be upset at first but you might be surprised at the support they're willing to offer you.
As for your quince I think that right now your priority should be your baby and not a party.

What are way to loose weight before new school year starts?
I just transfered to a new school for my junior year, and this new school has a lot of really hot guys, and the kids there are rich and make fun of you if your not half descent. I really would like to loose weight before going! This would make me more confident, and probably help me concentrate in class more, instead of worrying about other things.
I'm 16, 5'4" and I'm not sure on my weight, but I know its from 140 to 150. I can never find a scale that is accurate!
Also I'm going to be in a quince in June, and school starts for me in September.
problem areas, well the basics: arms, stomach, and definitely legs, I swear I have the biggest thighs in the world! The weird thing is my waist is smaller than my thighs....I think I've covered everything. Anything else you need to know just ask I'll edit later.
What are way to loose weight before new school year starts?
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

How can I remove a big root ball from the ground.?
We want to remove two large Texas quince bushes. We chopped them down to the root ball. The root balls are 2-3' across and made of many many stalks. It is very deep and doesn't spread out but goes down. Already broke the handle on one pick axe.

I've just been invited to my friends quince but I have no idea what to wear...fancy/casual, just fancy, or just casual?

For all of the Quinceanera's I've been too they tend to be a little on the formal side. The families and participants tend to dress formal and the guest dress semi.
But if yo are worried plain out ask the young lady that invited you. I did for my first one I told her out right I had no idea how a quince worked and I wanted to be respectful of her culture and party. She really respected that I asked and I ended up not wearing the dress I was gonna origanally wear that matched her partcipants dresses. I was glad and we are still best friends to this day.
Have a blast and enjoy the day it is usually a very beautiful and fun day.

well the dinner is always served at a specific time it is mostely like a two hour period that they are serving it. if you got an invite it always lists the time. then the quincianera dances then with her dad. after that they change her shoes, her crown, and she gives her doll away. after that comes the toast with her padrinos and guests. then the dance starts and lasts till the party is over. sometime in between the cake is cut and served. as for the food is it is mostly some type of meat, rice, beans, and maybe a salad. Most quincianeras ive been to they serve barbaquoa its like a beef stew and really good other things ive had are fajitas, and tacos i cant think of anything else.

I say if you want to, do it. Why let ethnicity or nationality dictate what you do? However it is a good idea to do one or the other. If you still wanna do both think about this... instead of doing a 2nd party you could use that money to travel all over the world...just a thought.

I would suggest if you are not of Hispanic origins you find out if there is a name that reflects your origins and if not use the "Sweet Sixteen" name or the other one that was common a "Coming Out" party. After all a party is a party and the idea is to have fun. And if you borrow a few things I would think it would make people proud to have their culture admired.

Quince Marmalade
Pare and core the Quinces and cut them up, putting them into water as they are cored, to prevent them from blackening. Put them into a preserving pan with 1 lb. sugar and 1 pint water for every lb. of fruit. Boil over a gentle fire until soft. Then put through a sieve, or mash with a spoon, boil up again and tie down in the same way as any other preserve.
Quince Jelly
Pare and core some ripe Quinces, cut them up, weigh them and put them at once into part of the water in which they will be cooked. Put the Quinces on the fire, with 1 pint water to each pound of fruit and let it simmer, but not long enough to change the colour to red - it should be quite pale. Strain through a jelly-bag. Weigh the juice the next day and put it in a preserving pan and boil it quickly for 15 minutes. Then take it from the fire and stir into it 12 OZ. sugar for each lb. of juice. Boil for another 15 or 20 minutes, till cooked, stirring all the time, and remove the scum.

How to get rid of dark underarms?
I've had a problem with dark underarms for sometime and in about a month i have to dance in my friends quince and where a straplless dress! I dont want my friends to see my embarrasing black underarms! What can I use to get rid of it? Also I have a caramel skin color, sos dont tell me to use anything that will turn my underarms white!

You may want to try moisterizing (sp!) this area immediately after showering, also using hydrocortisone may help to rejuvenate the skin.

We have persimmons and pomegranates. Maybe a little quince. Anyone closer to the equator than I am? Maybe the southern hemisphere? I can get fruit from South America at the market, but it is not the same. I miss berries.

How do I get rid of a monster vine in my backyard?
The previous owners of my house let this vine gorw completely out of hand. It has grown to a length of 10-15 feet and is climbing (and choking) a beautiful quince tree. I have tried cutting branches last year, but it grew back. Now I am trying to cut all the big stumps and the long roots %26amp; branches I can find, but the root system is huge and I cannot seem to be able to dig it out.
Is there anything I can spray on it that wouldn't hurt the tree? Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

You'll have to stay with it.
Spray any new growth with Roundup (carefully). Wait a couple of days for the plants to absorb it, then cut off the new growth. Brush straight Round up on the freshly cut ends. You'll have to keep doing this for some time since it sounds like it is well-established, but if you stay with it, eventually you'll win.
Reply:Agree with previous person- until the root is killed, you'll keep after it-- also there is a woody plant killer on the market-- I haven't tried it but I think it's made by the folks that make Round-up.
The quince will be OK with Round-up-- just don't spray any on it's branches or leaves.

At the play of pyramus and thisbe in Midsummer night's dream, does Quince incorrectly read the prologue due...
to anxiousness or is the prologue simply badly written and Quince is reading it correctly? I am supposed to be performing this part and would like to know this bit of information to improve my acting of this part.

It's up to YOU (along with your director, of course) to decide whether Quince is a good writer or not. If he IS, then he mangles the prologue due to "stage fright," and the nervousness that comes with playing a command performance before Theseus and the other nobles.
If you decide that he's kind of a hack writer, then he actually give a GOOD performance of a badly-written text.
These are VERY different interpretations. My advice to you: don't make up your mind before rehearsals begin. Try BOTH options. Explore. See which one feels better to you. This is the true joy of the actor's process. When you begin, EVERYTHING is possible...then begins the process of selection.

How do you kill the roots of a very old tree/bush when removing them is not an option?
The tree/bush is an antique quince and the roots shoot up all over. I really need it to be dead. Any ideas.

Concentrated Roundup herbicide will kill it 100% roots and all. :-). Its a contact herbicide that kills any plant it touches and the chemical travels to the roots as well killing the entire plant. Just make sure you don't get it on any plant you don't want to kill. You can get it at any of your local garden stores.

Music is feeling, then, not sound;

Thinking of your blue-shadowed silk,
Is music. It is like the strain
Waked in the elders by Susanna;
Of a green evening, clear and warm,
She bathed in her still garden, while
The red-eyed elders, watching, felt
The basses of their beings throb
In witching chords, and their thin blood
Pulse pizzicati of Hosanna.
II
In the green water, clear and warm,
Susanna lay.
She searched
The touch of springs,
And found
Concealed imaginings.
She sighed,
For so much melody.
Upon the bank, she stood

Remove from heat and skim off foam. Ladle into hot sterile jars, and process for 10 minutes in a hot water bath to seal. Refrigerate jelly after opening.

good thing i saw your question because i love makeup. when doing your makup make sure you put moisteriser first. then tap ur face with some foundation, make sure its even in your face and that it matches ur skin color, then put on some concealer, a shade darker then ur skin to bring out ur eyes. after this apply eye shadow, apply a color slightly darker then pink, make it like a purple.. dnt apply a little cause it will look horrible, put enough to bring out ur eyes. apply eye liner and apply a little on the top corner of ur eye lids, more like a pac man mouth. smile at the mirror and apply a pinkish blush to ur cheekbones. put mascara and then a littttle bit of shine to ur lips... wala!

Help! What do i wear to my first quince??
I'm going to my friends quince on saturday and i don't know what to wear! I'm asian and i guess i might feel left out but i want to know what happens at a quince. What do i wear?? Oh and it also might rain. Plz and thank u's.

Traditionally you would wear Pink or Peach dress but you should talk to your friend, She would traditionally wear pink or white so it really depends if it is by the book. Talk to her.
Reply:Dress like you would to a school dance basically, a lot of the family members will probably be pretty dressed up. Try wearing a cute cocktail dress with heels or flats.
Reply:I have no clue what a quince is, so i can't help you out in that situation, but since it sounds like some kind of formal party like a prom or something then i suggest you wear a dress.
If it rains then and you don't feel that the whole dress thing is needed then wear some skinny jeans with a nice top and shoes to match (heels)
add accessories, makeup, nice hair, etc....
And don't feel left about because your asian, Asians are one of the most prettiest people i've seen :-)
